Weirdly Rome was the last major European capital I had yet to visit. My northern italian friend had warned me that ‘Rome is special’. I didn’t take him serious as I just assumed it was his normal southern italian bashing.
Now i know what he meant: Rome is beautiful and fun, but it’s just cray-zy. Nothing works. The city doesn’t feel very fluid, as it seems that traffic is constantly zig-zagging around beautiful ruins.
Couldn’t live there, but definitely worth seeing.
at least she was right on the €
Love her or hate her she was remarkable I quickly wrote on Facebook. While watching the news, I began to think about her legacy.
As a child of the 90s, I, like so many of my generation are a product of this woman’s policies. For me her main legacy is that she created an individualistic society, a society where ‘we’ does not come into the equation of peoples lives.
If you compare the UK to the continent, we only have to look at our disdain for unions, strikes and anything collective. We live in a country where its youth (and I include myself in this term) hardly put up a fight against the biggest cuts in our welfare system. Thatcher’s revolution for a weak, invisible state continues.
Merci Madame Thatcher.

Can’t take the now - how do I get out of this country?
